How Do We Find the Best Lawyers for You?

What determines the most effective and efficient search? A search producing the right results requires a combination of:

But, if you have not yet worked with us, exactly what is the process? There are four major components to finding the right lawyer for your position - research, search, interview and recruit:

Research - Abelson Legal Search professionals secure all relevant information about the position to be filled. We ask all necessary questions to enable us to narrow the search to only the most qualified candidates. We understand what you want.

Search - When we initiate a search for a firm or corporation, we first search our internal database of the area’s top lawyers. We also conduct independent research to identify other appropriate lawyers, then contact these attorneys directly. Many of these attorneys, not actively job seeking, may be just the person you are seeking. Our goal is to identify those candidates with the combination of academic, practice area experience and personal characteristics you requested. Once we have identified appropriate prospective candidates, we scrutinize every aspect of these lawyers’ resumes to ensure they have the kind and level of experience to do your job. We assess their level, depth and kind of experience, grades and other educational measures of ability.

Interview - When possible, we conduct lengthy interviews with candidates. We get to know them and screen out candidates who are not perfect for you. We ask detailed questions, note their level of professionalism and attitude about personal appearance, analyze their motivation for changing positions and examine the specifics of their legal experience. We look for those qualities that will make them perfect for you.

Recruit - After we match your position with viable candidates and obtained assurances of confidentiality, we reveal the identity of the firm or corporate legal department and discuss the position. Once candidates give us permission to make an introduction, we will present you their resume, transcripts, writing sample or other documents you request. As you express interest in candidates, we coordinate the arrangements. We are available throughout the process to answer any questions and serve as a liaison for any sensitive issues. Once a candidate is offered a position, we assist with any details or information needed for the candidate to make a decision. Finally, once an offer is accepted, we assist the attorney in making a smooth transition.
