Shawn D. Phillips has 20 years' experience in professional recruitment, marketing, advertising and communications,
most recently as the Classified Advertising Manager for ALM Media in Philadelphia and The Legal Intelligencer.
At ALM Shawn also was National Sales Coordinator for ALM's lawjobs.com employment website, working closely with
law firms and corporations in analyzing their recruitment strategies. While at The Legal Shawn was a presenter for meetings of the South Jersey Paralegal Association, the Philadelphia Legal Secretaries' Association and other local, legal industry organizations.
Shawn has direct experience with recruitment advertising and job boards and has worked in the staffing industry as a Senior Recruiter with Volt Services, where he partnered with businesses to analyze their staffing requirements and business needs in a consultative manner. His sensitivity to their needs and appreciation of the complexity of business issues has been noted by many clients.
At Volt Shawn provided Fortune 500 companies and smaller organizations with the tools to help them achieve their staffing goals. First, as senior lead recruiter and later as an account manager, he focused on professional placement and temporary staffing needs in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties and in the South Jersey. He also offered clients recruitment consulting and recruitment process outsourcing services and was active with local SHRM [spell out] chapters. He worked extensively with pharmaceutical communications, marketing, construction, advertising, accounting, non-profits and manufacturing concerns.
Earlier in his career Shawn was the Classified Sales Manager at The Reporter where he also managed the
regional job fair business of parent Journal Register Company. During his time with The Reporter Shawn wrote numerous articles for newspaper in Lansdale on such career topics as resumes, job hunting, job fairs and job search strategies.
Shawn received his B.A., from Gratz College and earned Temple University's Certificate in Editing and Publishing. He lives with his wife and four children in Lower Bucks County.
