When you register and indicate the areas in which you practice, this information is kept indefinitely. When we identify a position that fits your qualifications, we will contact you discretely. We will submit you only to a position after you have given us your express consent.
To help us find you the perfect position, we encourage you to review and register for job listings on this site. Our online job listing application system notifies us of your interest in positions. It is not necessary to register again once you have registered. Just reopen your file (email us if you have forgotten your login/password) and indicate the position(s) which interest you. Whether or not a position is a good fit for you, we will e-mail or call you to discuss each one.
How the Process Works
At Abelson Legal Search there are four steps we take to ensure your next position is a lasting match: review, interview, counsel and match.
Review - We carefully review and read each candidate’s resume to assess credentials and qualifications that include education, training, experience level, practice area (s) and skills necessary to meet the demands of today’s legal market. Should we find that your background closely matches our clients’ needs, you will be called to meet with our recruiter.
Interview - During an Abelson Legal Search interview, we take the time to get to know you and your career objectives. By listening to you and reviewing your resume with you, we are able to assess your strengths and weaknesses. We work with you to tailor your resume to accurately reflect your credentials and qualifications in a clear and concise manner. You can be assured we maintain the highest standards in confidentiality and discretion. At no time will your resume be shown to an employer without your expressed, prior approval. Once we have an appropriate position for you, we carefully check your references, again maintaining confidentiality.
Counsel - Abelson Legal Search’s legal recruiter was formerly a practicing paralegal and remains active in the education of paralegals as an instructor and board advisor to area paralegal programs. Because of her experience, she brings a unique perspective to helping paralegals with their career goals.
Match - Once we have identified available positions that match your specific career goals, we discuss the opportunity with you in detail. Should you be interested in the position, we send your resume, with a letter of introduction delineating our impressions of you and highlighting your credentials. When the prospective employer requests an interview, we work with you to make all necessary arrangements. Following the interview, we obtain “feedback” from you and the prospective employer to ensure a good match has been made. We act as your liaison for any sensitive issue that may arise. As you make the transition to your new career, we assist and guide you through completion of the process.
